Q. I'm interested in becoming a member of Brevard Kennel Club. Where can I get more information on joining?

A. To become a member of Brevard Kennel Club, you must attend four meetings within a six month period. At the second meeting you attend, you may submit an application for membership. At the third meeting you attend, the application will be read to the membership. At the fourth meeting you attend, the application will be voted on. For more information, contact the Club Secretary.

Q. I'm trying to find a reputable breeder. Where can I find one?

A. We maintain a copy of the Florida Association of Kennel Clubs, Breeder Directory for referrels. You can email us at breeder_referrals@brevardkc.org for a particular breed listing. Also, go to the American Kennel Club web site and look for the National Breed Club for the breed of dog you're looking for. You also might want to go to dog shows in your area. This would give you an opportunity to meet the breeders.

Q. OK, Where can I find a dog show in my area?

A. Check out the American Kennel Club's listing of Events, or our listing of Florida Titling Events.

Q. I would like to adopt an older pure bred dog as a pet. Where do I start looking?

A. The Florida Association of Kennel Clubs, Breeder Directory has rescue referrels for most breeds. You can email us at breeder_referrals@brevardkc.org for a listing. Also, go to the American Kennel Club web site and look for the National Breed Club for the breed of dog you're looking for. Most clubs maintain a list of local rescue coordinator's.

Q. I can no longer keep my pure bred dog because "___fill in the blank___". Is there someone that will help me place the dog in a new home?

A. You can email us at info@brevardkc.org and we will help put you in touch with the rescue organization for that breed.

Q. I've heard about an upcoming dog event in the county. Do you have any additional information?

A. Although we do not get involved in all dog related events, our members generally have the information you are looking for. Drop us a line at info@brevardkc.org and we'll try and get some further information for you.
